Future Scholar Advisor Plan Earns Top 10 Rankings

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Columbia, SC - South Carolina’s Future Scholar Advisor 529 Plan ranked in the top 10 for one-, three-, five- and 10-year investment performance in a recently released nationwide analysis by Savingforcollege.com that identifies the best performing advisor-sold 529 plans.

Future Scholar with Treasurer Loftis

“We are honored that Savingforcollege.com recognized the Future Scholar Advisor Plan as one of the top 10 performing 529 plans in the country,” said South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis. “We take great pride in our state’s 529 plan and work hard to make it as customer-focused and cost-efficient as possible. This high ranking gives us positive momentum in encouraging families to save for college by investing in a Future Scholar 529 plan.”

To promote Future Scholar and celebrate the performance rankings, Treasurer Loftis is launching a privately funded multi-media Holiday Gifting campaign.

“Opening a Future Scholar College Savings Plan or contributing to an existing plan, is the perfect way to show someone you know or love that you care about their future — especially around the holidays. It’s a gift they’ll never outgrow” Loftis said.

Just in time for the holiday season, the Future Scholar plan is now offering an online contribution service called eGift, a new way to invite family and friends to give to your child’s 529 account online.

  • eGift is an easy, secure way to ask others for contributions.
  • Step-by-step guidelines on how to use the eGift platform to request contributions can be found at Futurescholar.com/gift/egift.
