#TBT: Unclaimed Property Program at the 2016 State Fair

Columbia, SC - The smell of fried food was in the air as Treasurer Curtis Loftis and staff from the Treasurer's Office helped people find their unclaimed property at the 2016 South Carolina State Fair.

 UPP at the State FairMore than 1,500 people visited the booths back on October 19, 2016. The staff worked hard and found dozens of people money that they didn't even know was waiting for them.

“The State Treasurer’s Office is committed to connecting citizens with their property,” said State Treasurer Curtis Loftis.  “It only took a few minutes to step away from the rides, stop by our booth and see if you, or your business has money waiting to be claimed.

 Staff helped people find money by looking to see if they had any unclaimed property in their name. "The best part about checking your name is that it's free!" added Treasurer Loftis.

The booths were in partnership with AARP South Carolina who sponsored Seniors Day at the State Fair.
