Columbia, South Carolina - State Treasurer Curtis Loftis and staff from the State Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Program had a successful trip to Georgetown.

Treasurer With Representative

Treasurer Curtis Loftis partnered with Representative Carl Anderson to provide unclaimed property searches to the residents of his district.

The Treasurer and his staff found more than $4,000.

“There’s all sorts of money out there. That’s why I came, I love giving it back," said Treasurer Loftis. “It’s in the name of your churches, it’s in the name of your schools, it’s in the name of your business, your mom, your dad, your maiden name. You check it, you find it and if you have a problem collecting your money, you call me and I’ll help you.”

The State Treasurer’s Office serves as custodian of more than $550 million in unclaimed property and holds it in safekeeping for the citizens of South Carolina.
