Learn about Future Scholar at Gamecock Village Saturday

Columbia, SC - Treasurer Curtis Loftis will be at the University of South Carolina's Gamecock Village to talk about the Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan this Saturday.

You can stop by the Future Scholar 529 College Savings Program area for information about how to open a tax-advantaged college savings plan for a child or grandchild. Future Scholar, administered by the State Treasurer’s Office, is South Carolina’s smart and easy way to save for college.   

“I am proud that my office has delivered one of the nation’s highest rated college savings plans and made it easy for parents and grandparents to save for a child’s college education,” said Treasurer Loftis.  There’s no minimum amount required to open a Future Scholar account and anyone can contribute to a child’s college savings,” Treasurer Loftis added.

Staff will be in Gamecock Village, at the corner of Bluff and National Guard road, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday October 22, 2016.
