Treasurer Curtis Loftis Presents Anna with $529 for Future Scholar Account

Treasurer With Cocky

Thanks in part to South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis, 7-year-old Anna Jonas got to spend time Saturday in the company of her favorite bird: USC mascot Cocky.

Anna, one of two winners of the Future Scholar Holler Sweepstakes, received a $529 check for her Future Scholar college savings plan Saturday. In addition, the Jonas family was given four tickets to yesterday’s USC-Florida football game, sideline passes and, perhaps best of all in Anna’s eyes, the chance to hang with Cocky.

“We’re so excited to have $529 to put into Anna’s Future Scholar account,” Anna’s mother Stephanie Jonas said. “We had the best day seeing our Gamecocks play and being able to go out on the field during the game.”

“I had a great time at the game yesterday," Treasurer Curtis Loftis added. "USC football, telling people about our 529 Future Scholar program and the opportunity to help a family put aside money for their child’s college savings costs. We can’t predict what college will cost when Anna is ready to enroll, but Future Scholar can help ensure she’ll have money set aside to pay for it," said Treasurer Loftis.
