State Treasurer Curtis Loftis launches 'From Our Future Scholars to Yours' Campaign
October 3, 2022
State Treasurer Curtis Loftis announced today the launch of a new social media campaign promoting South Carolina’s Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan and marking the 20th anniversary of helping families save for higher education.
From Our Future Scholars to Yours features testimonial videos highlighting the personal college savings journeys of staff members from the State Treasurer’s Office.
“People who hear me talk about our award winning plan in media interviews and at speaking events throughout the state know immediately how passionate I am about Future Scholar,” said Treasurer Loftis, who administers the Future Scholar plan. “When we began looking at how to celebrate our 20th anniversary of serving South Carolina families, my team realized that our employees, who are dedicated to making Future Scholar a wonderful savings tool and who have also invested in the plan for their own children, were perfectly suited to share their experiences.”
From parents who are welcoming newborns to those with adult children who have completed graduate school, staff members across the agency were eager to share their personal Future Scholar stories and encourage others who are considering saving for their loved ones’ future education.
“As we approach the holidays, we know people are thinking more about their families. This campaign is a gift of encouragement and support from our office family to yours. While we understand that saving for college is a big financial commitment, this campaign shows that with persistence and planning, you can save for higher education, too,” added Loftis.
The campaign will run on the State Treasurer’s Office social media accounts over the next few months.
