More than $1M in Unclaimed Property Returned

Columbia, SC - State Treasurer Curtis Loftis signed letters returning $1,177,085.66 in unclaimed property.

"You could have a part of the $503 million in unclaimed funds held by the South Carolina Treasurer's Office," said Treasurer Loftis. "Check your name right now. You could have money waiting for you that you didn't even know about!"

Examples of the type of property covered by the Unclaimed Property Program include bank accounts, stock certificates, checks, insurance policies and utility deposits. The Unclaimed Property Program does not include tangible property like land or vehicles.
