State Treasurer welcomes Tony Bryant as new IT Division Director

South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis welcomes Tony Bryant as the agency's new Information Technology Director.

“Tony has an impressive background in managing complex IT initiatives across state government and in the private sector,” said Treasurer Loftis. “We place a high priority on cybersecurity, maintaining modern enterprise systems and delivering large-scale technology solutions that support our public financial systems. I am pleased that Tony has joined our leadership team.”

Bryant brings more than 25 years of experience as an IT professional. Before joining the Treasurer’s Office, he served as the Lead IT Project Manager at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, where he oversaw the technology transition during the creation of the state’s two new agencies -- the Department of Public Health, and the Department of Environmental Services. He has also led the cybersecurity transformation efforts for the State of Michigan and managed major healthcare IT programs/projects at BlueCrossBlueShield of South Carolina and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Bryant holds a Master of Science in Information Systems with a concentration in Enterprise Resource Management and maintains several professional certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP). A former President of the Project Management Institute’s Midlands Chapter, he also helped develop the University of South Carolina’s continuing education program in project management. Outside the office, Tony is passionate about mentoring future leaders, exploring diverse cultures through international travel, and spending time with his family and friends.
