Statement from State Treasurer Curtis Loftis on the Comptroller General

"I thank Comptroller General Eckstrom for his many years of public service to the people of South Carolina. He has been a friend and colleague for a long time, and I wish him well.

I am also thankful for the oversight that has been provided by the General Assembly. The Senate Finance Constitutional Subcommittee, chaired by Senator Grooms, has devoted enormous amounts of time and effort into making sure the state’s accounting system protects the funds of the state… and the State is better off for their efforts.

As always, the talented and diligent staff of the Treasurer’s office remains focused on assisting the Comptroller General’s office in resolving any outstanding issues."
