In Celebration of Future Scholar’s 18th Birthday, State Treasurer Curtis Loftis Announces Birthday Sweepstakes

Since 2002, South Carolina’s Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan has helped thousands of families pay for higher education at four-year universities, technical schools and community colleges across the country. At 18 years old, the plan is the same age as many of the students who’ve used Future Scholar to invest in their education.

In celebration of this milestone, Future Scholar and State Treasurer Curtis Loftis, who administers the plan, want to see how your family celebrates birthdays. From July 9 until July 24, parents are invited to enter the Future Scholar 18^th Birthday Facebook Sweepstakes by liking the State Treasurer’s Office official Facebook page and posting a public photo or video of their child, age 10 or under, celebrating a birthday to their personal Facebook page with the hashtag #FutureScholarTurns18. Eighteen winners will be randomly selected to receive a privately-funded $529 college savings grant.
