Columbia, SC - Funnel cakes, farm animals, and the South Carolina Treasurer's Office made for a great combination at the State Fair!

Treasurer Curtis Loftis and staff from the office were on hand to celebrate Seniors Day at the fair yesterday. Staff helped people find money by looking to see if they had any unclaimed property in their name. Another booth provided information about the Future Scholar 529 College Savings Program, administered by the State Treasurer's Office.

“The State Treasurer’s Office is committed to connecting citizens with their property,” said State Treasurer Curtis Loftis.  “It only took a few minutes to step away from the rides, stop by our booth and see if you, or your business has money waiting to be claimed. Some might even say finding money is better than riding the rides!" Treasurer Loftis added.

More than 1,500 people visited the booths yesterday. The staff worked hard and found dozens of people money that they didn't even know was waiting for them.

The booths were in partnership with AARP South Carolina who sponsored Seniors Day at the State Fair.
