Tony Bryant

Director of IT Division

Tony joined the State Treasurer’s Office in 2025 as Director of the Information Technology Division, bringing more than 25 years of experience leading complex IT initiatives across state government and the private sector. His career has focused on modernizing enterprise systems, improving cybersecurity, and delivering large-scale technology solutions that support critical public services.

Before joining the Treasurer’s Office, Tony served as Lead IT Project Manager at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, where he oversaw the technology transition during the creation of the state’s two new agencies: the Department of Public Health and the Department of Environmental Services. He has also led the cybersecurity transformation efforts for the State of Michigan and managed major healthcare IT programs/projects at BlueCrossBlueShield of South Carolina and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Tony holds a Master of Science in Information Systems with a concentration in Enterprise Resource Management and maintains several professional certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP). A former President of the Project Management Institute’s Midlands Chapter, he also helped develop the University of South Carolina’s continuing education program in project management. Outside the office, Tony is passionate about mentoring future leaders, exploring diverse cultures through international travel, and spending time with his family and friends.
