More than $170,000 in Unclaimed Property Returned

Columbia, SC - State Treasurer Curtis Loftis signed letters returning $173,365.65 in unclaimed property.

"It's great to return this unclaimed property to people," said Treasurer Loftis. "Make sure to check the names of your entire family because the money is there. All you have to do is check for it."

Examples of the type of property covered by the Unclaimed Property Program include bank accounts, stock certificates, checks, insurance policies and utility deposits. The Unclaimed Property Program does not include tangible property like land or vehicles.
