More than $420,000 in Unclaimed Property Returned

Columbia, SC - State Treasurer Curtis Loftis signed letters returning $424,300.77 in unclaimed property.

"It's important to check your name for unclaimed property," said Treasurer Loftis. "You could have a part of the $503 million in unclaimed funds held by the South Carolina Treasurer's Office that you don't even know is waiting for you!"

Examples of the type of property covered by the Unclaimed Property Program include bank accounts, stock certificates, checks, insurance policies and utility deposits. The Unclaimed Property Program does not include tangible property like land or vehicles.
